Upstate New York, June 2001

These photos were taken on the opening days of “Big Trip 2001”. These sites have been amply chronicled on Tower Site of the Week.

The trip begins as I travel west along the Massachusetts Turnpike from my home in Framingham (where I had just moved only a couple of months previously), and follows the New York State Thruway west to Scott's home in Rochester. Scott showed me some of the Rochester sites (a few of which don't exist any more) and then as our trip begins, we stop briefly in Buffalo and then in Erie, Pennsylvania on our way to the first night's stopover in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
