This building has always been the home of WKOX (1200 Framingham), going back to the days when it was a daytimer on 1190. At various times the building has also housed WKOX-FM/WVBF/WCLB-FM (105.7 Framingham, now WROR-FM), various incarnations of 650-Ashland (WRPT, WJLT, WSRO), 1470-Marlborough (when it was WSRO), and the most recent edition of 1060-Natick (WJLT, WMEX, WBIX). For much of its life, WKOX was owned by Fairbanks Communications, but it's now a Clear Channel station; the other stations here are owned by Alexander Langer. Clear Channel has a construction permit to move WKOX to Brookline, using 50 kW-D, with a change in city of license -- although many doubt that this facility will ever get built. WKOX is currently 10 kW-D, 1 kW-N DA-N; WSRO (650 Ashland) operates from the tower that WKOX does not use during the day. WBIX (1060 Natick) operates with 40 kW-D, 22 kW-C DA-D from both towers; it has a CP for night operation which would require additional towers.
