When the other FMs started moving to this site, it was necessary to install a combiner for the new master antenna system. Being rather short on horizontal real estate (particularly in the days of much larger vacuum-tube-based transmitters), the operators decided to take advantage of their vertical real estate instead. The combiner sits on top of a steel suspended-grid ceiling, forming a natural "loft" for all those filter tanks.
