We were unfortunately unable to get up to the One Financial Center roof (Chris says it takes significant prior arrangement to be allowed up there). So after the transmitter-room tour, we returned to the roof of the bus terminal to pick up the car and head up to WFNX's current site overlooking Malden Hospital. I of course couldn't resist a few skyline shots.
Both of the skyscrapers shown in this view were designed by Jung | Brannen Associates. On the left is One Lincoln Street, a 2003 building in a style I'm not sure how to describe (it has a very “Deco Revival” feel to me); on the right is of course One Financial Center itself. The Boston-based firm has designed a number of projects in the vicinity, including 125 High Street, One Post Office Square, and the John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse, and renovation projects at the Custom House Tower, the World Trade Center, 160 Federal Street, and the Federal Reserve tower.
