If KMPC's transmitter building seems a bit large to you, it should come as no surprise that it was once the studio location as well, back in the KPOL days. Later, after the studios moved elsewhere, the building was made into an apartment for the station's chief engineer. (KROQ-FM's Fred Holub lived here in the 1990s, and kept the building free of graffiti.) There's now discussion of moving the transmitters into the building on top of the hill where the old phasor was, which would allow this structure to be torn down.
