For many years, WPIX had a sister FM station, originally WPIX-FM, later WQCD (101.9B New York). Tribune sold the station to Emmis some years ago, but not before building new studios on the fourth floor of the News Building. When Emmis took over, they carted away all of WQCD's portable assets, even the consoles, so the only things left here from that era are a bit of furniture and these empty studio rooms (now used for storage).
