It's not really possible to get a photo of the entire NBC Burbank operation, except perhaps from the air, but this building, at the intersection of Alameda and Olive, has the actual 3000 W. Alameda Ave. street address which NBC gives as the Burbank studios' address. Local TV is around the corner, fronting Olive; guest relations is on the west side, along California Ave., and the main “people who belong here” entrance is on the east side along Bob Hope Drive. The Ventura Freeway runs along the south side of the lot.
According to the page on my studio tour the previous day, NBC has already sold this facility to a new operator, who will take over once the new Universal City studios open in 2009. The “Days of Our Lives” team—easily the largest production in the building—would prefer to stay here, rather than moving forty years' worth of old props, sets, and costumes to the new facility. (This has apparently not yet been decided, or if it has, the page had yet to be informed.) Conan O'Brien will be the first to perform in the new studios; his version of Tonight will debut from Universal City next June.
