I'm now finally up in the Baldwin Hills, at the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, looking at the newest FM facility in Los Angeles: KDAY (93.5A Redondo Beach) just moved up here, joining KJLH (102.3A Compton), KRCD (103.9A Inglewood), and KDLD (103.1A Santa Monica) elsewhere in these hills. KDAY had been on top of the KNX (1070 Los Angeles) tower in Torrance, which is rather a bit of a waste when you consider that much of the signal was over water. (Many of the class-A FMs in Los Angeles—and KDAY in particular—are pre-'64 short-spaced to second-adjacent class-Bs on Mount Wilson, which means that there are no second-adjacent spacing restrictions. They do, however, have co-channel spacing constraints, as all these frequencies are reused elsewhere.)
