Even in farm towns like El Centro it's possible to lose a tower site and have to build a new one. KXO (1230) and KXO-FM (107.5B) used to have a tower on Driftwood Rd. near where Route 86 intersects the I-8 freeway, but lost that a few years ago (there's nothing there left to see). KXO's owners built this new tower on Villa Road, northeast of downtown El Centro, for both stations.
