For some reason, YBC decided to truck the old KVNA backup transmitter down from Flagstaff when they lost the original KVNA site (see my Flagstaff gallery for a photo of the old tower base). It sits here on display in the lobby of the studios in Cottonwood. The label on top reads:
This 1958 AM transmitter was first installed in Flagstaff and was continually used until the mid-1970's. At that time it became a standby transmitter and was used up until 2004 when it was replaced by a solid-state transmitter 1/5 its size .
