Our first stop, before heading into the park, was at this Circle K convenience store at South Central and Dobbins to get some water and use the facilities. The South Mountain towers have a line-of-sight view straight up the middle of the Valley of the Sun all the way to next mountain pass about fifteen or twenty miles north of here. For what it's worth, all of South Mountain is part of a Phoenix city park, the second-largest municipal park in the country.
