A Day-trip to Block Island, Rhode Island

On Fathers' Day, 2004, I treated my father to a trip via high-speed ferry to Block Island. Of course, such a trip could never just be about father-son bonding and whatnot, when there are towers to be photographed and stations to be airchecked. Conveniently, both of the Block Island stations share the same tower, which is a few hundred yards from the ferry landing, so we were able to get that out of the way quickly. Inconveniently, thanks to traffic in North Kingstown for the Quonset Air Show, we were unable to make our scheduled ferry crossing, so the schedule got thrown off a bit. As it turned out, this mattered little and gave me a couple of extra airchecking opportunities.
