Milwaukee's first UHF station, WCAN-TV (channel 25), built this tower atop the Schroeder Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, when it signed on in 1953. It was later used by WUHF (channel 18) and WDJT-TV (channel 58). Richard Golembiewski has written a very complete history of television in Milwaukee which further details the history of this facility.
