There are only two rooms in North America where you can experience two 50-kW stations operating into the same, single, antenna, and I've now seen both of them. (This is of course the CHWO/CJBC antenna-tuning unit and combiner at Hornby; the other is WFAN/WCBS at High Island, New York.)
Roberto Vissani has a clever idea for a safety device. Most of us have seen the demonstration where a fluorescent bulb in the vicinity of an intense electric field will absorb enough energy to illuminate. Roberto takes the demonstration one step further by permanently placing this bulb next to the ATU, as a reminder that the components are energized.
