In addition to its historic involvement in the birth of FM radio, West Peak was also home to early UHF TV. WATR-TV (53 Waterbury) had both studio and transmitter on West Peak for its entire (and brief) period of existence. When the station shut down, they simply left the facilities where they stood; the tower and antenna were later dropped, but never carted off the mountain. This was WATR-TV's antenna.
