As I mentioned, WTIC used this transmitter site long before standard steel-truss radiators came into fashion. Originally, like many stations of its era, WTIC used a center-fed dipole antenna. Unusually, when the directional array was built in 1939, the original tuning house for the dipole antenna was left untouched. It's now used for storage, although the structure is no longer entirely weather-tight. That's the west tower in the background.
