Hereford Street

Hereford Street

Still at the same corner, now I'm looking down Hereford St. towards Newbury, with more-typical Back Bay buildings.

Trivia question: most Bostonians know the Back Bay “alphabet” streets: Arlington, Berkeley, Clarendon, Dartmouth, Exeter, Fairfield, Gloucester, and Hereford. But how many people know that the alphabetic pattern continued on the other side of Mass. Ave.? There were three more, although only one of them remains. What were their names?

Ipswich, Jersey, and Kilmarnock. Only Ipswich survives.
