WAXQ studio pod

WAXQ studio pod

Josh wanted to avoid the “long hallway of identical studios” effect seen in many large cluster buildouts today. Each station has a “pod” of studios, consisting of two main air studios, a call-screener position (located outside the control room as at the stations' current studios in New Jersey), and possibly additional studios for originating syndicated programming. (When the plans for this facility were originally being made, WKTU's morning show was the syndicated Whoopi Goldberg show, which was produced at WWPR-FM's midtown Manhattan studios.) The morning show will take over one studio, and the other main studio will be used in the other dayparts. Each station has its own color, which is reflected in the studio decor and wall coverings; the teal sound tiles on the wall tell you that this is WAXQ. (The colors don't have any particular connection with the station's logo or other imaging.)
