So our first stop in Blythe was also our last (there's really nothing else to see there beyond a translator and a Radio Bilingue class-A which doesn't have local studios), so we headed over the river to Quartzsite and 1010 (or maybe 16031) Camel Dr., where we found KBUX (94.3A Quartzsite) using this four-bay antenna mounted on a telephone pole. It appears to be a labor of love for licensee Maude J. Burdette and her husband Buck; the building at right is apparently their home. The station is hyper-local by necessity: with an ERP of 205 watts from 49 meters below average terrain, it really can't serve anywhere other than Quartzsite.
