It's not often that you see an AM directional array still standing decades after the station has departed. These three towers were used by KCNA/KIKX (580 Tucson), which lost its license in 1981 for a “broadcast hoax” violation in 1974. Today the Swan Road facility is used as a public-safety communications site. (The 580 in Marana, which we saw on Thursday afternoon, is a new license, not related to KIKX.)
