As we mentioned in the caption for WGCL, Tribune sold its CBS affiliate, WGNX on channel 46, only to move ten channels down on the dial to WB affiliate WATL. The studios (which predate Tribune's ownership) are locate at 1 Monroe Place. Tribune acquired WATL from Quincy Jones and Geraldo Rivera's Qwest Broadcasting (no relation to the telephone company), which it already had had an investment in; Qwest in turn had acquired WATL from Fox, which needed to sell a station after purchasing New World, which had owned WAGA (channel 5).
