These are the studios, such as exist, of WNNE-TV (31 Hartford), in White River Jct. They are located right next to a hotel, and almost look to be in a converted motel themselves. This Hearst-Argyle-owned station is a satellite of Burlington's WPTZ (5 North Pole, N.Y.), and I think only a single newscast is produced here. While ordinarily this market would be much too small for Hearst-Argyle to be interested in it, both stations came as a part of an asset exchange several years ago related to the disposal of Hearst's radio properties in another market. Hearst-Argyle would later purchase New Hampshire's ABC affiliate, WMUR (9 Manchester), the last link forming a chain of stations from Boston to New York's North Country. One expects that the four stations' operations will be further consolidated in the future.
