Not far from Joy Drive, off Shelburne Road in South Burlington, we find 22 Market Square, the home of WVNY-TV (22 Burlington). When we first moved up here, channel 22 had just come back from a dark spell, and was co-owned with WEZF—unsurprisingly under the callsign WEZF-TV. Once we moved up to Bolton, the multipath of our mountain valley completely destroyed the signals of the Mt. Mansfield UHFs (WEZF and WETK), and we had to look to Montreal's CFCF (channel 12) for most ABC network programs. Knight eventually got out of television, and the new owners of channel 22 changed the callsign back to the original WVNY, but the studios have always been here so far as I know. During my visit, I found that the adjacent strip mall (which I remember as having been anchored by a Grand Union supermarket and an indoor outlet mall) had been completely demolished and was in the process of being reconstructed to more upscale standards appropriate for the condominimum and health-club development under construction out-of-frame to the right.
