We are stopped on the south side of US 521, better known as Billy Graham Parkway, looking at the ``back'' side of the WCNC (36 Charlotte, DT 22) studios, whose official address is 1001 Wood Ridge Center Drive. WCNC positions itself as ``NBC 6'', which is rather confusing until you realize that 6 is their cable channel position and not their broadcast allocation. Channel 36 transmits from the old channel 9 site in Dallas, Gaston Co., and is owned by A.H. Belo.
