Having had a nice lunch with Burt Weiner, I headed back to Glendale to complete my mission there. The Brand Boulevard addresses I was looking for were unimpressive commercial office buildings, with no sign of radio past or present, so I moved on to the Glendale Hotel, 102-106 Glendale Avenue in downtown Glendale. For many years the studios of KIEV (870 Glendale, now KRLA) were located in the hotel, and when the station was a 250-watt daytimer, it broadcast from a “T” antenna on the roof. The towers are now gone, and the old hotel has been redeveloped into condominium apartments.
