We're now almost on the approach to the tunnel portal itself. I took a look around and noted, in addition to the omnipresent SSTC bus ramps, a nice view of Vent Building #1, perched atop the immersed-tube tunnels which will take I-90 across Fort Point Channel. (For those who care about such things, it's called Fort Point because there used to be a hill not far from here called Fort Hill because it long ago had a fort on top. Fort Hill itself was demolished in the nineteenth century, with the soil being used as fill in the construction of Atlantic Avenue.
