Although those WBT towers beckoned mightily, we decided to attack the Charlotte market beginning from the northeast, where many of the TV and FM stations operate, in an area my map labels as Newell. This tower on Caldwell Rd. serves Charlotte's local public television operator, WTVI (42 Charlotte, DT 11), and a recent move-in, WRFX (99.7 Kannapolis).
In addition to WTVI, Charlotte also receives public-television service from WUNG-TV (58 Concord, DT 44), relaying the statewide service WUNC-TV (4 Chapel Hill), and South Carolina ETV's WNSC-TV (30 Rock Hill, DT 15).
