Sunday in the Pioneer Valley

I took up a long-standing invitation from Mike Fitzpatrick of WWLP (22 Springfield) to visit LIN Broadcasting's new, state-of-the-art master control center in Chicopee, from which five LIN stations are operated with space for five more. (In addition to local NBC affiliate WWLP, the facility also serves LIN's ABC and UPN affiliates in New Haven and their CBS and Fox affiliates in Providence.) Of course, even as thorough a tour as Mike had time to give could not exhaust my tower-hunting desires on a long summer day, so I made my way from East Longmeadow all the way up to Greenfield. It is my belief that one could easily see the entire Pioneer Valley in a single day, but I'd rather do it on the leisurely side with help from the locals.
