Los Angeles, December 2005

I was invited to present at the 2005 LISA Conference in San Diego. I had some friends I wanted to visit in the L.A. area before heading down to the conference; unlike in previous years, my employer was not paying my way so I did not take any tutorials.

I flew in to LAX on Monday, December 5th, and stayed overnight at a ratty Comfort Inn in Santa Monica. The next morning, I visited a number of the sites in western L.A. County that I hadn't seen on my previous trip in 2004 (for which the gallery is not yet available). I then met my friend Xiaowei Yang at the amazingly quaint (for Los Angeles) Long Beach airport (KLGB), and proceeded down to her office at U.C. Irvine before heading on to San Diego for the conference.
